klings-kangwa-named-in-sofascore-team-for-the-2023-afcon-qualifiers 

Zambia National Team midfielder Klings ‘Mature’ Kangwa has been named in the Sofascore team for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. 

The Red Star Belgrade Midfielder was instrumental to the Chipolopolo Boys’ qualification journey for the Ivory Coast 2023 AFCON. 

Kangwa is the only Zambian player in the team with a rating of 7.42. 

Kangwa is joined in midfield by club mate Geylor Kanga of Gabon, Ademola Lookman of Nigeria and Dango Ouattara of Burkina Faso. 

Upfront Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, Sekou Koita of Mali and the top goalscorer Victor Osihmen make up the attacking trio. 

The defenders are Remy Bensebaini of Algeria, Tunisia’s Yasssine Meriah and Mamadou Fofana of Mali. 

24 year old Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is the man between the sticks. 

Kangwa scored two goals in the qualifiers including the winner from a free kick on match day 2 against Comoros at the National Heroes Stadium.

Zambia finished top of group H with 13 points ahead of Ivory Coast.

The 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, is scheduled to be the 34th edition of the biennial African association football tournament and  be hosted by Ivory Coast  between 13th January and  11thFebruary 2024.
