Government has commissioned the Kitwe Industrial Yard on the Copperbelt which is expected to focus on promoting agro-processing.
Small and Medium Enterprise Development Minister ELIAS MUBANGA says the Kitwe Industrial Yard will improve the economic status of the Copperbelt.
Mr MUBANGA says the government through the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission -CEEC- has allocated 21 Million kwacha to purchase processing equipment at the industrial yard.
And, CEEC Director General Dr MUWE MUNGULE said the commissioning of industrial yards will see the country produce high value products that can compete on the international market.
Meanwhile, Africa Development Bank Representative RAUEBILE DUROWOJU said the bank is dedicated to supporting the government in uplifting the lives of the people through initiatives like the Kitwe Industrial Yard.
And, Copperbelt Permanent Secretary AUGUSTINE KASONGO said the government will continue creating economic opportunities for all.
