The Konkola Copper Mines –KCM- in liquidation is reported to have accrued more debt post the liquidation process than before.
UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema who revealed this development has charged that KCM has continued to accrue more debt which he says is likely to become a burden for the country if the mining company is allowed to continue on its current path.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema is concerned that many contracts at the mine are now only being given to sympathizers of the ruling patriotic front.
Speaking in Lusaka yesterday, the UPND leader said this development is distorting business in the country as not every supplier is benefiting.
