Over 5 million Kwacha has been disbursed in empowerment loans and grants under the Constituency Development Funds -CDF- to 23 groups in Kafue District.
Kafue Member of Parliament MIRRIAM CHONYA confirmed this during the hand over of the loans and grants to the beneficiary groups in Kafue.
Ms. CHONYA said the disbursement is a clear demonstration that government is delivering its promises of empowering people.
Meanwhile, Kafue District Commissioner MAURICE HIKAPULWE urged the beneficiaries to be disciplined in utilizing their funds in order for many others to be empowered.
Kafue Town Council Deputy Chairperson JUSTINE SINGOYI encouraged others to learn from the beneficiaries and form cooperatives in order for them to benefit from the increased CDF.
And, Lusaka Provincial Administration Local Government Officer, KAMBINGA NONDO cautioned the beneficiaries on the importance of paying back and that administration will be going around to monitor them.
