The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ-says the Under-20 Cosafa title must remain in the country at all costs.
FAZ Secretary General Adrian Kashala says after last lifting the trophy in 2016 Under the tenure of Beston Chambeshi, the current crop of players must account for themselves by winning the 2019 title.
He says since 2017 Zambia has been hosting the event which has been won by South Africa back to back adding that its time the players took their national commitment to another level by lifting the trophy.
Kashala says the FAZ is confident that the Junior Chipolopolo Under the tutorage of 2019 U-17 Cosafa Cup winning Coach Osward Mutapa will win the competition.
And Kashala says all is set for the 2019 U-20 Cosafa Tournament that kicks off in Lusaka on Wednesday and will run up to December 14, 2019.
He says officials have been conducting routine checks on the two stadiums that will host the games adding that the facilities are conducive for the fixtures.
KASHALA has since called on football fans to turn up in numbers and support the team.
Meanwhile, Football Analyst Musonda Chibulu has urged the players taking part in the tournament to utilize the Platform provided by Cosafa and showcase their skills.
Chibulu said the players can learn from how the Cosafa Tournament helped shape the careers of Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu who are currently playing in Europe.
