Green Buffaloes assistant coach Chris Katongo described the teams 2-0 loss to Nkana as painful.

Katongo told the ZamFoot Crew in a post-match interview that he had previously never lost a game at Nkana Stadium both as a player and as an assistant coach. Katongo is however not too worried about the loss and is more focused on the coming games.

“It’s too painful as a player I never lost here. As an assistant coach, I have never lost here, This is my first time to lose here, In Football anything can happen. They have broken that record so they are happy we have more games to go so we will see how we can collect some points in the games, ” he said.

“For sure, My players concentrated on the match and only lost it in the second half and allowed Mbombo to score from Nowhere,” he added.

His Nkana counterpart Manfred Chabinga believes his team was the better side and managed to contain the Zambia Army-sponsored out-fit.

“Am so happy, We have managed to beat Buffaloes a team that has been giving us problems. We contained them and we were the better side. They had more players in midfield and we could not match them so we made a change and scored two goals .” he said.

“We missed him and it’s a motivation that he is back he did it today and made us happy,” he added.

Idriss Ilunga Mbombo scored a brace on his return to Nkana Stadium to lead Nkana to a 2-0 win over Green Buffaloes ending a three winless run at home against the Soldiers.
