(ZANIS) Southern Province Minister CREDO NANJUWA says government has unearthed a scam in which some people in the province are conniving with coal transporters to ferry dead animals to different locations.
Mr. NANJUWA says on Monday four trucks carrying infected meat were intercepted in different parts of the province by the surveillance teams that have been placed in different locations.
He disclosed this in Livingstone when he paid a courtesy call on Livingstone Mayor CONSTANCE MULEABAI.
Mr. NANJUWA has instructed the Livingstone City Council to intensify meat inspections to avoid an influx of infected meat into the tourist capital especially that Kazungula district is slowly becoming a hot spot.
