Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says the government has approved the Information Communication Technology- ICT policy which will drive the digital transformation agenda.
And Mr. MUTATI has urged young people to take advantage of the demand for digital skills to create employment opportunities for themselves.
Mr. MUTATI says young people must invest in the various capacity building opportunities present.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the 8th Seeds for the Future Student Training Program in Lusaka today, Mr. MUTATI said through such programs, young people can increase the levels of digital skills currently standing at 40 percent.
And, Chinese Ambassador DU XIAOHUI, in a speech read on his behalf by Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy MENG MAO said China is supporting Zambia’s technology advancement agenda.
Meanwhile Huawei Vice President Southern Region PHIL LI said the Seeds Program was introduced in Zambia in 2015 with only 10 students from across universities and to date one hundred and two students have been trained.
