human-rights-activist-calls-for-a-stop-to-statements-that-may-influence-gay-rights

Human Rights Activist Brebner Changala has advised those in leadership positions and the general public to desist from issuing statements that may influence gay rights in Zambia.
Mr. Changala notes that while Chief Justice Mumba Malila has denied calling for the respect of gay rights in zambia but respect of gay people as human beings, this still has potential to influence an act that is unconstitutional and against the country’s values.
He tells Phoenix News in an interview that instead of being casual about this matter, government must strongly condemn recent remarks that seem to support gay rights in order stop this debate.
Mr. Changala says any statements relating to gay rights is detrimental and sensitive for a country like zambia that has not anchored a law to this move.
