(ZANIS) President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is in the Angolan Capital Luanda for the Extraordinary Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit of Heads of State and Government.

President HICHILEMA touched down at the Luanda International Airport at 09:30 Zambian time aboard the Presidential Challenger accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Stanley KAKUBO.

The Head of State was welcomed at the Airport by Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, ANTONIO TETE and Zambia’s Ambassador to Angola, LAWRENCE CHALUNGUMANA.

President HICHILEMA is attending the summit in his capacity as Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defense and Security Corporation.

The Summit being held today, November 4, in Angola is the continuation of the virtual Extraordinary SADC summit held on 31st October 2023.

The summit seeks to address the security situation particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
