President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has commissioned the CHITANDA LUMAMBA Adventist Hospital in Chibombo District which has been built at the cost of over one million dollars.
The hospital, whose construction was funded by Fountain of Life Africa, has a capacity of 28 beds and so far, 35 health personnel have already been deployed at the hospital which is located in Chiyuni area of Chibombo District in Central Province.
Officiating at the event, President HICHILEMA said the government will continue employing health workers in order to reduce the ratio between patients and doctors.
And, Seventh-Day Adventist Church North Zambia Union Conference Executive Secretary EMMANUEL MWEWA said the hospital was built following a generous donation of one million dollars by Fountain of Life Africa.
Pastor MWEWA disclosed that the SDA Church also spent 1.2 million Kwacha to build support infrastructure and buy equipment.
And, Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO said the CHITANDA LUMAMBA Adventist Hospital will bring health services closer to people of Chiyuni area who used to travel to Chibombo District Hospital which is located 90 kilometers away along the Great North Road.
