President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Zambia needs to urgently join hands with other countries in the region that hold critical minerals that are driving the green energy and electric vehicle revolution.
President HICHILEMA says the region will have a stronger advantage to trade with other bigger economies such as Europe and China if they work together.
The President says if this opportunity is not managed properly and quickly, countries in the region will miss a chance to exponentially grow their economies and improve the livelihoods of the people.
Speaking when he met South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation NALEDI PANDOR who paid a courtesy call on him at State House today, President HICHILEMA said the region has a similar opportunity which should be grabbed and utilised quickly.
And, Dr. PANDOR said she is in the country to hold talks with her counterpart STANLEY KAKUBO on the Zambia -South Africa Bi-National Commission-BNC.
She said the BNC is meant to strengthen bilateral and trade relations between the two countries.
