Avram Grant has praised his leading striker Patson Daka following another eye catching performance in the World Cup qualifier.

The 24 year old has scored an amazing 14 goals in his last 13 matches for Zambia.

While he is one of the best strikers on the continent, it’s opposite in England where he is being started of game time at Leicester City

“He is a very good striker. He scored how many goals today? ah 2,” Grant said after he was asked about his top striker’s performance against Congo.

“He scored 2 goals and he had scored almost each and every game since I have been here.

Daka has already played a minute for Leicester City and that came on Zambia’s Independence day.

Asked about the former Kafue Celtic, Nchanga Rangers and Power Dynamos’ striker, the former Chelsea and West Ham manager had this to say

“He is doing a very good job. His movement is good. It’s not so good that he is not playing for his club so it’s not helping us a lot but he has good character.

Despite scoring a brace, Grant, just like many Chipolopolo fans felt Daka wasn’t at his best.

Such are the high standards the smiling assassin has set.

“Normally he takes his chances 100%, today it was a little bit 50% but he has been good for us.

Daka has already scored more international goals than the great Emmanuel Mayuka, Mwape Miti and the late Kelvin ‘Malaza’ Mutale.

He is on level on 17 goals with James Chamanga and 6 behind Chris Katongo and Collins Mbesuma.

On Tuesday, the 68 year old Israeli will hope his talisman will continue his rich vein of form.
