President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says his administration is committed to transforming lives of the people by focusing on preventive health care , health education and primary health care service.
President HICHILEMA says this is the reason his administration has increased the Constituency Development Fund -CDF, in order to provide enough health care services country wide.
ZANIS reports that President HICHILEMA said this in a speech read on his behalf by Minister of Defence AMBROSE LUFUMA during a one day orientation meeting for parliamentarians on community health today.
The President reminded parliamentarians that they should prioritize community health programmes in their constituencies.
He said members of parliaments should recognize that social accountability plays a pivotal role strengthening Community health and goes beyond representing constituency.
And Minister of Health SIYVIA MASEBO said government though her Ministry is determined to achieve universal health coverage through decentralization using the Primary Health Care approach.
She said Universal Health Coverage simply means that every Zambian should be reached with at least basic health services.
