President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says the Government will continue to work with the Supreme Court in addressing challenges that affect efficient delivery of service to the public.

President HICHILEMA has also called on the three arms of Government to work together in promoting values of accountability, transparency and good governance.

The President says the partnership among the executive, legislature and judiciary is critical to effective management of national affairs.

President HICHILEMA said this in LUSAKA today during the ongoing commemoration of the Supreme Court’s Golden Jubilee held under the theme” Empowering the next Generation of Justice Leaders.

And Chief Justice MUMBA MALILA called for the actualization of the financial autonomy of the judiciary as prescribed by the Republican Constitution.

Justice MALILA also lamented the inadequacy of judicial infrastructure and Information and Communication Technology facilities.

And, Law Association of ZAMBIA -LAZ President LUNGISANI ZULU called for an increase in budgetary allocation to the judiciary to streamline its operations.

Mr. ZULU said the underfunding of the judiciary over the years has negatively affected its operations and infrastructure expansion programmes.
