Fisheries and Livestock Minister MAKOZO CHIKOTE says government is in the process of identifying Districts that will benefit from the stocking and restocking of 1,000 beef cattle and 225 dairy cattle.

Mr CHIKOTE says Districts that have not benefited from the previous restocking exercises will be considered.

He says experts from his ministry will ensure that viable small scale farmers are considered to benefit from the project.

Mr CHIKOTE said His Ministry will ensure that the cattle are shared equally for the Districts that will benefit.

He has encouraged farmers to take interest in forming cooperatives to apply for empowerment funds.

Mr CHIKOTE said this in the parliament in response to Lufwanyama Member of Parliament  KENNY  SIACHISUMO who wanted to know if the Government has any plans to empower small scale farmers in Lufwanyama P Constituency with cattle.
