Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO says a vulnerability assessment will be conducted to ascertain the shortage of maize in Petauke District.
Ms MALUMANGO however says Government is not aware of reports that Petauke District has a shortage of maize.
She says the Food Reserve Agency -FRA- has purchased over 3,000 metric tonnes of maize.
Ms. NALUMANGO was responding to PETAUKE member of parliament, EMMANUEL BANDA who wanted to know if Government was aware that there is a shortage of maize in the district and that some people are only having a meal a day.
