Government has rolled out the sustainable agriculture financing facility credit window with registration at the district agriculture coordinators offices starting today.
Agriculture Minister, RUEBEN MTOLO says the loans will be accessed through the banks at an interest rate of 12 percent.
Mr. MTOLO says all beneficiaries will sign bonding agreements to sell their produce to the Food Reserve Agency -FRA- as market facilitation and also guarantee food security.
In a ministerial statement to the National Assembly, the Minister said the loan will be issued in the form of farming inputs to those not covered under the FISP.
Mr MTOLO said that there is NO cash given out to the farmers.
