Science and Technology Minister FELIX MUTATI says government is working on building an inclusive digital economy that will harness the power of artificial intelligence and automation.
Mr. MUTATI says his ministry will also invest in education and vocational training programs that will ensure youths become proficient in artificial intelligence, automation and information security.
He said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Science and Technology Permanent Secretary BRILLIANT HABEENZU at the launch of pre-summit future of AI, automation and information security in Africa.
The summit will take place from September 13th to 15th, 2023 in Livingstone.
Meanwhile, Smart Zambia National Coordinator PERCY CHINYAMA said AI, Automation and Information will help complement the role of his institution.
And Machine learning institute of Africa President JACQUES LUDIK said Africa has to invest in technology education in order to shape a better future in information technology.
