Youth, Sport and Arts, Minister ELVIS NKANDU has praised Zambian artists for the impact they are making in the film industry.
Mr. NKANDU was speaking during the launch of the second call for submissions of the feature films to the Zambia Oscars Committee.
The minister said Zambian films have received two Africa Magic viewer’s choice awards organized by MultiChoice Africa.
And, Head of the Zambia Oscars Committee and the President of the Filmmakers Guild of Zambia, LAWRENCE THOMPSON thanked the Government for the support they have rendered to the film industry so far.
Mr. THOMPSON however called for tax incentives for international producers and creation of much needed Film Commission.
Meanwhile, President of the National Association of Media Arts, BRIDGET MALUMBA called on producers to utilize this opportunity and submit their content to the Zambia Oscars Committee.
The selected film will be announced at the Awards ceremony of the 10th SOTAMBE Zambia International Film Festival on Friday 29 September.
