(NAIS) Government has reduced interest rates on the Public Service Agriculture Asset Plus Loan scheme from 18 percent to 9 percent.

Mr. NKULUKUSA said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Finance and National Planning Permanent Secretary in charge of Economic Management Finance DANIES CHISENDA at the launch of the Enhanced Agricultural Asset Plus Loan Scheme by the Public Service MicroFinance Company at Mulungushi Conference Centre.

Speaking earlier, Public Service Micro Finance Company Chief Executive Officer MUBANGA MWIKO said the company has provided an opportunity to over 40-thousand public service workers to access various loans and products at affordable rates.

Mr. MWIKO said the coming on board of the Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force and the Zambia National Service to the company is testimony of the government’s commitment to ensuring all public workers access affordable loans to venture into economic activities.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary NORMAN CHIPAKUPAKU said the government wants to ensure that every officer in his ministry contributes to economic growth.
