Government has commissioned the rehabilitated David Kaunda Stadium in Chipata.
Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU has called on Members of Parliament to use part of the Constituency Development Fund -CDF- money to develop sports facilities in various constituencies.
NKANDU says government will allocate more resources towards the development of sports infrastructure.
He has also urged local contractors to ensure that they deliver projects according to schedule.
And Chipata Central Member of Parliament REUBEN MTOLO appealed to the Ministry of Sports and the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ-to utilise the available space at the stadium to expand the facility.
FAZ President ANDREW KAMANGA said he is confident that other facilities that are being rehabilitated by FIFA will be handed over to the government before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, FIFA representative DAVID FANI commended FAZ for using part of the FIFA support for rehabilitating sports facilities.
The stadium is part of the facilities that are being renovated by FIFA at a cost of 300 thousand United States Dollars each.
