The Germany Government has given Zambia 10-million Euros to improve management of water supply in the country.

Germany President FRANK -WALTER STEINMEIER says the money is meant to help Zambia ensure its people have access to quality water.

President STEINMEIER announced this during a joint Press Conference with President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA at State House today.

At the same event, the Germany President said he has come with a business delegation which will engage with the Zambian Government and the business community on possible investment partnerships.

Speaking at the same Press Conference shortly after a closed door bilateral meeting with the Germany President, President HICHILEMA thanked Germany for the support to improve water management.

President HICHILEMA said Zambia will work with Germany to ensure water is managed properly for domestic and economic use.

He said the country will also ensure that water is harvested and channelled to agriculture production to increase food availability which is increasingly becoming scarce in the region.

President HICHILEMA said Zambia also wants to work with Germany to add value to critical minerals such as Lithium and Copper that are driving the electric vehicle battery industry.

The President said this is important as it will create Jobs for Zambians and promote the use of clean energy.
