The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- has increased the pump price of petrol and diesel by an average of 3-Kwacha 68-ngwee.
This means that a litre of petrol will now cost 29-Kwacha 42-Ngwee up from 25-Kwacha 55-Ngwee up by 3-Kwacha 85-Ngwee while diesel which has gone by 3-Kwacha 52-ngwee will not cost 26-kwacha 88-ngwee up from 23-kwacha 36-ngwee.
Jet-A1 fuel which was costing 22 Kwacha 56-ngwee will not cost 26 kwacha 42 ngwee.
ERB Board Chairperson RAYNOLDS BOWA who announced the adjustments in fuel prices today said the price will take effect midnight tonight
Mr. BOWA however said pump prices of Kerosene will remain at 20-Kwacha 44 Ngwee because the country has built enough reserves.
He attributed the upward adjustments in pump prices of fuel to increase in international oil prices and depreciation of the kwacha against the US dollar.
