Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Francis Mwansa was between the sticks as the Copper Bullets suffered a narrow 1-0 loss in an international friendly match against Egypt on Thursday. 

Mwansa, despite conceding late in the match, put in an impressive performance for the Chipolopolo Boys. 

The former Trident FC goal minder is expected to continue between the sticks this evening as Zambia take on Uganda in the second of their two international friendly matches for the October FIFA window. 

Mwansa was a worthy replacement for injured Lawrence Mulenga in the first match played at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates last week. 

Mwansa made his competitive debut at the 2023 COSAFA Championship in the  semifinal clash against South Africa.

He did well and showed composure as he helped Zambia to a 2-1 win over arch rivals Bafana Bafana. 

Mwansa went on to keep a clean sheet in the final as Zambia beat Lesotho 1-0 to win a record seventh title. 

The other goalkeeper available to Avram Grant is 27 year old Charles Kalumba who was spotted and earmarked by then Chipolopolo coach Milutin Micho Sredojevic as a possible first choice goalkeeper at the Cameroon 2020 CHAN tournament.

He made some costly mistakes but worked his way back to the national team set up, winning his third cap against Iraq.Kalumba impressed as he saved Zambia from a tennis scoreline in Baghdad.

The other available goalkeeper is Nchanga Rangers man Victor Chabu who has been on the fringes of the team. 

Chabu will be eyng his competitive debut for Chipolopolo as they face the East African side. 

The Cranes and the Chipolopolo will square off this evening in an international friendly at the Hamriya Stadium in Sharjah, Dubai, with kick off set at 17h00 CAT.
