Four people have died while 10 others have sustained serious injuries in an accident that happened this afternoon in Serenje district.
The accident which happened around 12:00 hours on the Great North Road involved a Scania Marcopolo Bus Registration number ABE 78 property of Harvey bus Transport, and Daf Truck loaded with Sulphur.
Due to the impact, fire ignited, burning both Motor Vehicles, consequently, four unknown males, suspected two from each vehicle were burnt to death.
Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA says the unidentified truck driver failed to keep to his near side lane and in the process collided head on with the bus, which was heading the opposite direction.
Mr. HAMOONGA further says the bus had 76 passengers on board.
He says the driver of the bus Collins Magula, 49 of Zingalume Township in Lusaka and some passengers escaped unhurt.
All the injured passengers are admitted to Serenje district hospital while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited in the Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
