Former First lady ESTHER LUNGU has been formally charged and arrested by Police for theft of motor vehicle and two other charges.
Mrs. LUNGU 66, has been jointly charged and arrested with four others for three counts of Theft of Motor vehicle.
The other four are JAMES PHIRI aged 49, LEE CHISULO aged 31, KAPAMBWE LUNGU aged 42 and CATHERINE BANDA aged 30 all of Lusaka.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer DANNY MWALE says the suspects have also been charged and arrested with one count of Theft of a Certificate of Title for a property in Lusaka’s Libala South.
He says Mrs. LUNGU has also been charged and arrested for the offence of Possession of Property Believed to be Proceeds of Crime.
Mr. MWALE says all the suspects are currently detained in Police custody.
