Former First Lady Esther Lungu has been arrested and charged with theft of three motor vehicles and a certificate of title for a property domiciled in Libala Township.
The former first lady has been jointly charged with three other police officers who are said to have helped her in investigating a matter where she reported that her money had gone missing and managed to recover it.
Mr. Lungu has since been detained at Lusaka’s ibex police station.
Meanwhile, there was commotion at the Ibex Police Station as the former first was being taken to police cells as a number of senior pf officials who had gathered in solidarity of the former first family protested her detention.
