Government has instituted investigations into the reports of Camp Agriculture Committees getting fertilizer that is meant for farmers under the Farmer Input Support Program in Chasefu District of Eastern Province.
Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO says Camp Agriculture Committees have got no authority to get part of the fertilizer because farmers on FISP know how much fertilizer they should be receiving.
Mr. MTOLO has also advised that any other affected Districts can use the office of the District Agriculture Coordinator to establish what is happening.
He adds that District Agriculture Officers have got the authority to transfer the CAC’s if they receive reports of misconduct.
Mr. MTOLO was speaking in parliamnet in response to Chasefu Member of Parliament MISHECK NYAMBOSE, who wanted to find out what if Government is aware of Camp Agriculture Committees getting fertilizer meant for farmers.
