First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA has opened the international workshop on HIV and adolescence 2023 in Lusaka.
Speaking during the opening of the international workshop, Mrs. HICHILEMA said children nowadays are exposed to technological advancements which can compromise their decision making on health related issues.
She notes that youths lack knowledge on prevention and treatment of HIV which is one of the reasons that has made it hard to curtail infections.
Meanwhile, Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO, in a speech read for her by Permanent Secretary Administration CHRISTOPHER SIMOONGA said Zambia is yet to attain 95 percent of people living with HIV knowing their status.
Ms. MASEBO said the ministry has intensified HIV prevention methods by going flat out to raise awareness.
And Global Fund Coordinating Council Representative JOSHUA BANDA said the global fund has declared full financial support for incentives aimed at curtailing the spread of HIV.
