Mkaika Member of Parliament PETER PHIRI has appealed to government to engage the contractor that is supposed to work on the World Bank funded roads in Katete.

Mr. PHIRI says works on roads in Katete has delayed.

He told ZNBC News the contractor was also engaged to work on a similar project in Sinda.

Mr. PHIRI said the contractor should subcontract if he has no capacity to do the work.

He said the Chinkhombe road that is supposed to be worked on has remained in a poor state.

And Mr. PHIRI has appealed to Katete Town Council to ensure it utilises the newly procured road equipment.

Meanwhile Katete Town Council Secretary EVERTY NG’ANDU said rural development goes hand in hand with a good road network.
