An elephant has killed a 14-year old school girl of Londamaka primary school in Isoka District in Muchinga Province.
Isoka District Commissioner, JAIROS SIMBEYE confirmed the incident to ZANIS today, at the victim’s residence.
Mr SIMBEYE explained that the victim was killed around 11 hours, six metres away from Londamaka Food Reserve Agency shed where the elephant was.
He has appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid moving at night.
Meanwhile, the District Commissioner has called on ZAWA officials to control the elephant before more lives are lost.
