The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- says it has started preparing for the 2026 general election.
ECZ Chairperson, MWANGALA ZALOUMIS says the commission is aware of stakeholders concerns and expectations on the need to deliver credible elections which is why early preparation is key.
Speaking during the launch of the ECZ 2023 – 2027 strategic plan, Ms. ZALOUMIS said election management is one of the pillars of the new plan through continued registration of voters, delimitation, results management, and conflict management and resolution.
She said the commission also wants to ensure stakeholder engagement and participation throughout an election.
Meanwhile, ECZ Chief Electoral Officer, BROWN KASARO said the strategic plan is not just a document but a commitment to ensure predictable, transparent, efficient, impartial and inclusive electoral services.
