POLICE in Kabwe have arrested a driver and a cashier for allegedly stealing over K265,000 cash from an employee of the local Mt Meru Filling Station.
The two men pounced on the worker at Stanbic Bank in Kabwe’s central business district when she was at the bank to deposit the money.
Central Province acting commissioner of police Dennis Moola said in the course of investigations into the case of aggravated robbery, Agrippa Mwanza, 27, a driver for Ferro Alloys in Kabwe, and his accomplice, Clement Kalaluka, 34, a cashier at Arm Secure, have been arrested for the incident that happened on August 8.
“The two suspects were apprehended from Kapiri Mposhi and Kabwe respectively,” Mr Moola said in an interview yesterday.
Police also confiscated a Toyota Vitz registration number BAC 4805, a fridge and mattress from Mwanza.
From Kalauka, they seized a Toyota Axio registration number BAP 5578.
Furthermore, the suspects led the police officers to Luangwa township where they showed them the vehicle used in the crime.
The vehicle is Toyota Fun Cargo, white in colour with a registration number ADD 351 belonging to a Mr Mwanza.
The two are expected to appear in court soon.
