Kitwe residents have hailed government for the initiative to introduce digital national Identity cards.
The residents say digital identity cards will rid the country of criminals using other people’s Identity cards to commit crimes.
They have told ZNBC News that the new system will make it easier for people to replace their identity cards once lost than the current system which is time consuming.
One of the residents, PATRICIA MILANZI said the Integrated National Registration Information System is a representation of great things happening in Zambia.
And GODWIN BUNDA a Kitwe resident called on all Zambians to take part in the exercise and support government in the development of the country.
Government through the Department of National Registration, Passport and Citizenship has launched the Integrated National Registration Information System -INRIS- in Zambia.
