The Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC- has seized and frozen bank accounts with a balance of over 19.5 million Kwacha.
This is in the third quarter of 2023.
DEC Director General NASON BANDA says the commission has also seized and frozen a dollar account with a balance of about 290 thousand dollars within the same period.
Speaking when he addressed the media on the September 2023 statistics, Mr. BANDA also disclosed that 81 properties were forfeited to the state.
He said over 4.6 Million Kwacha and about One thousand dollars was also forfeited to the state.
Mr. BANDA said the commission has shown commitment in addressing drug related crimes.
