Trial has been adjourned in a matter where Former Patriotic Front-PF Secretary General DAVIES MWILA is charged with possession of 102,600,000 KWACHA deemed to be proceeds of crime.
LUSAKA Chief Resident Magistrate DAVIES CHIBWILI has adjourned trial in the matter to September 14, 2023.
The adjournment was necessitated due to the application by the state as the state witness was indisposed.
Magistrate CHIBWILI granted the application and adjourned trial to September 14 and 15, 2023.
He ordered Mr. MWILA and his co-accused ANNIE MWITWA , a Lawyer, to appear for mention on August 28,2028.
This is in a matter where Mr. MWILA and Ms. MWITWA are jointly charged with two counts of possession of 102,600,000 KWACHA deemed to be proceeds of crime.
In count one Mr. MWILA is charged with possession of 102,600,000 KWACHA deemed to be proceeds of Crime.
In count two, Ms. MWITWA is charged with failure to Report Suspicious Transaction contrary to Section 45 of Financial Intelligence Act Number Six of 2010.
The offences were allegedly committed between January 01, 2021 and August 31, 2021 in Lusaka.
