The Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority -TAZARA- has suspended passenger train service across the border between the two countries effective Monday March 30.
TAZARA Head of Public Relations Conrad Simuchile has confirmed that Mukuba and Kilimanjaro Passenger trains will NO longer cross the border between Tanzania and Zambia, but will continue to run within the respective boundaries of the two countries.
Mr. Simuchile says the cancellation of the passenger trains is until further notice in a bid to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus .
He has , however, told ZANIS in a statement that the freight train operations are not affected by the change.
Mr. Simuchile has since advised passengers to take note of the new operational schedule by the authority in the two countries.
