Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Lawrence Sichalwe has urged Chiefs to play an active role in the fight against Covid-19.
Mr. Sichalwe says there is need for communities to be equipped with information on how they can fight the pandemic.
He said this in Mumbwa when he officially opened a chiefdom Covid 19 sensitisation meeting of Chiefs based in Mumbwa and Itezhitezhi districts.
And in a vote of thanks, Chieftainess Muwezwa of Itezhi-tezhi assured the minister that the information collected will be delivered and implemented by their subjects.
Chieftainess Muwezwa said some committees have already been formed at the local level and that as traditional leaders will work with government to find a winning formula for the pandemic.
The meeting which was attended by nine chiefs including Senior Chief Shakumbula was organised by USAID Discover Health Project.
