Zambia Women’s National Team trio has been named in the best eleven of the 2023 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship.
Defenders Esther Siamfuko and Lushomo Mweemba have been named alongside midfield ace Evarine Susan Katongo.
Siamfuko was impressive at right in the absence of the regular, Margaret Belemu while Lushomo Mweemba continued to be a pillar in the heart of the Copper Queens defence.
Katongo was a busy body in midfield for the 2022 WAFCON bronze medalists and set up two of Sarah Jere’s four goals.
Player of the tournament and top goalscorer Temwa Chawinga, Sabina Thom and Thubelihle Shamase of South Africa.
Katongo in midfield is joined by the Mares of Botswana midfielder Lone Gaofetoge and Malawi and Elite Ladies hard working midfielder Maydina Ngulube.
Lushomo and Siamfuko have been joined by Amelia Banze of Mozambique and Kafegofetse Mochawe of Botswana.
Malawi were crowned the 2023 HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Womens Championship winners for the first time after defeating holders Zambia 2-1 at a buzzing Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile Mozambique were also on the podium for the very first time at the Championship, winning a bronze medal after defeating Zimbabwe 2-0 in the third/fourth place playoff in the earlier kick-off.
