Southern Province Permanent Secretary, NAMANI MONZE says cooperatives have great potential to contribute to economic growth and human development.
And Dr. MONZE has commended Tugwashane savings and cooperative of Chief HAMAUNDU’S Village in Pemba District for its chicken value chain initiative under World Vision.
He says the government’s policy of human transformation is being well implemented and interpreted in the chiefdom.
Dr. MONZE was speaking during a World Vision Zambia livelihood interventions media tour in Chief HAMAUNDU’S Chiefdom of Pemba District.
And Pemba District Commissioner, OBEY HABEENZU says government is supporting efforts of cooperating partners such as World Vision in poverty alleviation.
Mr. HABEENZU says the interest of the government in rural areas is to apply the Eighth National Development Plan such as transforming the lives of the people economically.
Meanwhile, Tugwashane Savings and Cooperative Agent, SARAFINA HANGANDU says the group is currently sponsoring seven children from Grades one to five with necessary school requirements such as uniforms and books.
