The Zambia National Team,the Chipolopolo Boys have been placed in Pot 3 ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw.
The draw for the continental showpiece will take place on October 12, 2023 to decide who will face who in the Group stages.
Zambia has been placed alongside neighbours South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania.
Zambia could face hosts Ivory Coast, defending Champions Senegal, seven time winners Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finalists, Morocco who are placed in Pot 1.
From Pot 2, Zambia could face West Africa giants Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and neighbouring Congo DR.
Zambia will also be drawn with a team from Pot 4 which consists of teams like Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, and Gambia.
The 34th edition of the biennial tournament will kick off on January 13, 2024 and run through to 11 February, 2024.
The teams will be divided into six groups of four teams each. The first two teams in each group will have the privilege of qualifying for the Round of 16, alongside the four best teams ranked third across all six groups.
POT 1: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria.
POT 2: Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana, Congo DR
POT 3: South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania.
POT 4: Guinea-Bissau, Angola, Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, Gambia.
