Chipata Central Correctional Facility has harvested over 5,000 by 50 kg bags of maize in the last farming season.
The facility has also produced 548 by 50 kg bags of soya beans.
Chipata Central Correctional Facility Officer in Charge TRUST MAZOWA told ZNBC News that the available food rations will cater for the whole year.
And Chipata Female correctional facility officer in charge ROSALINA BANDA said the facility is doing well in terms of farming.
The two were speaking when Chipata City Mayor GEORGE MWANZA presented two electric pots that were bought by the local authority to the facility.
