The ruling United Party for National Development -UPND- in Chingola has directed party members in the district to desist from issuing statements concerning the dropping of former Luapula Province Minister DERRICK CHILUNDIKA.
Chingola UPND Chairman SCRIVINER BWALYA has since urged party members in the district including Nchanga Constituency to support the decision made by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA to drop Mr. CHILUNDIKA from his position to pave way for investigations.
Mr. BWALYA says President HICHILEMA is committed to the fight against corruption and is on record that he will not spare anyone in the fight.
Speaking during a press briefing in Chingola this afternoon, Mr. BWALYA said the UPND is a party anchored on the rule of law and anyone found wanting will be subjected to the due process of the law regardless of their status in society.
He further warned that any member found issuing careless statements will be disciplined.
The UPND District Chairman also assured the President of the support from the district as he has continued to score back-to-back success on his campaign promises.
On July 5th President HICHILEMA fired Mr. CHILUNDIKA as Luapula Province Minister to pave way for investigations into alleged illegal mining of Sugilite in the province.
