Mines Minister PAUL KABUSWE has thanked residents of Chililabombwe for being patient with the government as the negotiations for the ownership of Konkola Copper Mines were going on.
Mr. KABUSWE says Vedanta Resources will not be allowed to take advantage of the Zambian people as per new agreement.
He was speaking in Chililabombwe at the KCM number one shaft where he addressed scores of residents and youths.
And Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO says the government cares about the welfare of miners on the Copperbelt.
Mr. MATAMBO says the coming back of Vedanta Resources at KCM will create a lot of jobs for the people on the Copperbelt.
Meanwhile, Chililabombwe Mayor LUCKY SICHONE says the return of Vedanta Resources means a lot to the people of Chililabombwe.
