Chief KATYETYE of Isoka District has urged government to carry out intensive sensitization on government programmes, especially in the rural areas.

The Chief is happy that government has good intentions towards improving the livelihoods of people by providing them with loans in farming and other sectors.

He has, however, called for sensitization for the citizens to be aware of what is at their disposal.

Chief KATYETYE that beneficiaries can only learn how to successfully utilise the funds accessed through loans for their businesses once guided.

He was speaking when Minister of Small and Medium enterprise Development ELIAS MUBANGA paid a courtesy call at his palace in Isoka District.

And Mr MUBANGA acknowledged the traditional leaders concerns that processing of loans under the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission is taking long.

Mr MUBANGA explained that the Commission is overwhelmed with applications currently standing at the value of 30 billion kwacha

He, however, noted that the government has continued to increase funding for the commission to a projected 3-hundred and 91- million Kwacha in 2024.

And Isoka District Commissioner JAIRO SIMBEYE said that the District is more into agriculture activities adding that farmers in the area are happy with early distribution of inputs.

Mr SIMBEYE disclosed that the district has continued to yield a bumper harvest, recording g the highest product in Muchinga Province.
