The Chess Federation of Zambia -CFZ- is confident CHITUMBO MWALI will be among the top contenders at the 2023 World Cup that starts this weekend.
CFZ- President LESLIE CHIKUSE says MWALI, who is Zambia’s sole representative at the 2023 World Cup, has what it takes to challenge some of the best players in the sport for the World title.
MWALI will represent Zambia at the Chess World Cup that runs from July 30th to August 24th, in Azerbaijan while international arbiter CHANDA NSAKANYA will be the only African officiating at the tournament.
And, CHIKUSE has told ZNBC Sports News that the two are expected to leave the country for Azerbaijan today.
