Speaker of the National Assembly NELLY MUTTI has announced Patriotic Front-PF- Mafinga Member of Parliament ROBERT CHABINGA as new leader of the opposition in parliament.

Ms. MUTTI says this follows the appointment of Mr. CHABINGA as leader of the opposition replacing Mporokoso Member of Parliament BRIAN MUNDUBILE.

She told parliament that on October 31, the National Assembly received a letter from PF Secretary General MORGAN NG’ONA announcing the appointment of the Mafinga Lawmaker.

Meanwhile Ms. MUTTI suspended business for 10 Minutes after confusion erupted in the house.

This was after the speaker directed the Sergeant at arms to remove out of the house PF Kamfinsa Member parliament CHRISTOPHER KANG’OMBE.

After businesses resumed, Ms. MUTTI asked Mr. KANG’OMBE to leave the house and he obliged.
