Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has dispelled assertions that the Government has only released the full allocation of the 2023 Constituency Development Fund -CDF- to Constituencies held by UPND MPs.
Mrs. NALUMANGO says the pace at which the Government is releasing CDF money is determined by the rate at which Constituencies are utilizing the allocations.
She says CDF money is released according to utilization.
Mrs. NALUMANGO is concerned that Constituencies that are not utilizing money allocated to them are affecting others Constituencies that are working hard and implanting projects on time.
Mrs. NALAUMANGO was responding to a question during the Vice President’s Question Time in the National Assembly today, from Bwacha Member of Parliament SYDNEY MUSHANGA.
Mr. MUSHANGA wanted to know why the Government was allegedly discriminatory in the distribution of CDF money by giving the full allocation for 2023 to Constituencies held by UPND MPs.
The Vice President further noted that the MP’s needed to work hard and ensure money is utilized quickly so that the Government can release the next round of funds to all Constituencies at the same time.
