can-triple-c-sneak-into-the-midfield-this-evening?

The Zambia National Team will renew their rivalry with North African side Egypt this evening as they square off in an international friendly match.

Avram Grant will be using the match to fine tune the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON tournament.

Grant seems to favour the 4-3-3 formation hence three midfielders are expected in the match.

In the recent past the combination of Kelvin Kapumbu, Emmanuel Banda and Klings Kangwa seems to be the preferred trio.

Kapumbu anchors and protects the defence with his dirty work while Emmanuel Banda and Klings Kangwa inter-change in the more advanced side.

However since it’s a friendly match Grant could try to switch things up with a different trio.

Tanzania based Clatous Chota Chama has been enjoying good form at club level and could be given the nod.

The only downside is that he was the last to arrive and has only attended one training session.

Given he is a top professional he could walk straight into the team and there is evidence of the Great Kalu, Kalusha Bwalya coming in the day of the match and delivering.

Mwamba wa Lusaka as he is known in East Africa could provide the creative acumen needed to supply the strikers and create chances for them.

Others available for the midfield positions are Golden Mafwenta and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba.

Zambia and Egypt will square off this evening for the first time since 2015 at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.

Kickoff for the match will be at 20:00 hours local time (18:00 hours Zambian time.
